The Album of the Year:

The Wombats - A Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation

Auch 2007 darf in den oft umstrittenen Musik- Bestenlisten eines nicht fehlen: der fast schon inflationär von “der Insel” aufs europäische Festland strömende Indie- Britpop.

Prototypische Vertreter und knackige Debütanten am irgendwie immer noch hell strahlenden Britpop- Himmel sind dieses Jahr The Wombats, die mit “ A Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation” zwar nicht gerade die Musikwelt revolutionierten, aber wieder einmal die Tanzflächen zu einem bessern Ort machten. 

Alles nichts Neues? Alles schon mal gehört? Stimmt. Und trotzdem bekommt der geneigte Hörer hier so einiges geboten: ironische Texte, adoleszente Abenteuer,  wilde Indie- Nächte, Höchstgeschwindigkeit. Vor allem aber eins: Hits, Hits, Hits.
